Acetic acid salt spray testing

Demonstrating the effectiveness and integrity of our computer-controlled pre-treatment process for powder coating.

We’ve taken a knife to this aluminium panel coated in our popular finish ‘Aged Copper’ and scratched an ‘X ‘across its surface, right down the metal. Then we have subjected the panel to 7904 hours of being sprayed with an acidic salt solution to mimic an extremely harsh corrosive environment.

The powder coating finish is still intact. Though the scratched ‘X’ shows oxidation there has been no creep of corrosion underneath the surrounding finish. The powder coating is not beginning to lift or flake.

Pre-treatment is the most important phase of the powder coating process and our investment in a fully programmable process ensures consistency and repeatability, bringing assurance  to our customers and their customers that the powder coating process is robust and meets the demands of the architectural market.
